Die Selfkantbahn befand sich am Sonntag ganz in den H\u00e4nden der Kinder, und in Scharen waren die Menschen, vornehmlich Familien mit Kindern zum Bahnhof Schierwaldenrath angereist. <br \/>Maike W\u00fcrdig hatte hier viel zu tun, denn ihr oblag die Organisation des Kinderfestes, das allj\u00e4hrlich den Nachwuchs mit historischer Eisenbahntechnik vertraut macht. Maike W\u00fcrdig ist die Tochter von Bahnhofsvorsteher Helmut Kommans, der mit Ehefrau Lieselotte ebenfalls arbeitsm\u00e4\u00dfig eingebunden war.<br \/>Das \u00abeisenbahnbegeisterte Trio\u00bb war Dreh- und Angelpunkt f\u00fcr die Aktivit\u00e4ten beim Kinderfest und wurde unterst\u00fctzt von 27 weiteren \u00abDampfross-Freunden\u00bb, die irgendwo auf dem weitl\u00e4ufigen Gel\u00e4nde der Museumsbahn in Gangelt-Schierwaldenrath werkelten. W\u00e4hrenddessen wurde den Kids rund um den Bahnhof einiges zur Unterhaltung geboten.
