September 2007 hat der erste Spatenstich zur Verl\u00e4ngerung der H\u00e4rtsfeld-Museumsbahn von der jetzigen Station S\u00e4gm\u00fchle zur Station Katzenstein am H\u00e4rtsfeldsee stattgefunden. Mit zwei Landtagsabgeordneten, zwei Landr\u00e4ten und zwei B\u00fcrgermeistern waren sowohl die beiden beteiligten Kreise, der Ostalbkreis und der Kreis Heidenheim als auch die beiden beteiligten Gemeinden Neresheim und Dischingen geb\u00fchrlich vertreten.<br \/>Von Neresheim aus fuhren die Ehreng\u00e4ste mit einem Dampfsonderzug ans Streckenende bei der S\u00e4gm\u00fchle. Dort gab es viele positive Worte bei guter Laune und gerade noch gutem Wetter. Insbesondere die einzigartige Verkn\u00fcpfung von Museumsbahn, Landschaft und historischen Bauten wie dem Kloster Neresheim und der staufischen Burg Katzenstein wurden als sehr wertvoll f\u00fcr den Tourismus bezeichnet. Am Streckenende, das noch im Ostalbkreis liegt, wurden dann die Spaten in die harte H\u00e4rtsfelderde gesteckt.
