Mai 2007<br \/>Am heutigen Vormittag wurde die Dampflokomotive 99 5902 der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH (HSB) im Bahnhof Wernigerode-Hasserode von einem Stra\u00dfentransporter entladen. Die 110 Jahre alte Lokomotive der Bauart \u201eMallet\u201c kehrte nach erfolgter Hauptuntersuchung im th\u00fcringischen Dampflokwerk Meiningen jetzt in den Harz zur\u00fcck und steht der HSB f\u00fcr die kommenden Jahre wieder f\u00fcr weitere Eins\u00e4tze zur Verf\u00fcgung.<br \/>Nach der umfangreichen und ca. vier Monate w\u00e4hrenden technischen Untersuchung pr\u00e4sentiert sich die im Jahre 1897 bei der Lokomotivfabrik Jung in Jungenthal gebaute Mallet-Maschine nun auch in einer neuen Lackierung. Das bislang gewohnte Schwarz wich einem attraktiven Dunkelgr\u00fcn mit schwarzen Zierlinien, welches dem nostalgischen Charakter der betagten Lokomotive gerecht wird und der Farbgebung von Lokomotiven zur L\u00e4nderbahnzeit entspricht.<\/p>\n<p>Als zweit\u00e4lteste Lokomotive der HSB kann die 99 5902 in der Tat auf ein langes Leben im Harz zur\u00fcckblicken. Sie geh\u00f6rt zu den ersten Lokomotiven, welche die damalige Nordhausen-Wernigeroder Eisenbahn (NWE) noch zur Kaiserzeit f\u00fcr die Harzquer- und Brockenbahn beschaffte. Ihre heutige Betriebsnummer bekam die urspr\u00fcnglich als \u201eNWE 14\u201c und sp\u00e4ter als \u201eNWE 12\u201c eingereihte Maschine erst bei der Betriebs\u00fcbernahme des schmalspurigen Harznetzes durch die Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) im Jahre 1949. Bis zu ihrer Abstellung im Jahre 1993 stand die Lokomotive nahezu ohne Unterbrechung im Einsatz auf den Harzer Meterspurstrecken. Nach einer siebenj\u00e4hrigen Abstellzeit wurde der Oldtimer im Jahre 2000 von der HSB wieder reaktiviert.<\/p>\n<p>Zum Bestand der HSB z\u00e4hlen heute noch vier der insgesamt dreizehn durch die NWE bis zum Jahre 1920 beschafften Mallet-Lokomotiven, einer sehr seltenen Bauart, die f\u00fcr ihren Vierzylinder-Verbund-Antrieb mit einem feststehenden und einem beweglichen Triebwerk bekannt ist. F\u00fcr Sonder- und Planeins\u00e4tze werden neben der 99 5902 noch heute die Mallets 99 5901 (Bj. 1897) und 99 5906 (Bj. 1918) betriebsf\u00e4hig vorgehalten.<\/p>\n<p>Mit der in einen anderen Farbzustand versetzen 99 5902 verf\u00fcgt die HSB nun \u00fcber eine stilistisch passende Lokomotive f\u00fcr ihren beliebten Traditionszug.
