Die 110 Jahre alte Lokomotive der Bauart \u201eMallet\u201c verlie\u00df Wernigerode anschlie\u00dfend mit dem Fahrtziel Meiningen. Im dortigen Dampflokwerk wird die 99 5902 in den kommenden Monaten eine umfangreiche Hauptuntersuchung erhalten.<br \/>Die im Jahre 1897 bei der Lokomotivfabrik Jung in Jungenthal gebaute Maschine wurde noch im selben Jahr an die damalige Nordhausen &#8211; Wernigeroder Eisenbahn (NWE) mit der Betriebsnummer NWE 14 abgeliefert. Bis zum Jahre 1901 wurden noch insgesamt elf weitere Lokomotiven dieser Bauart von der NWE in Betrieb genommen, im Jahre 1920 folgte sogar noch eine dreizehnte Maschine. 1949 z\u00e4hlten noch insgesamt sechs St\u00fcck zum Fuhrpark des nunmehr von der Deutschen Reichsbahn betriebenen Schmalspurnetzes im Harz. Hiervon gelangten nach der Privatisierung im Jahre 1993 noch vier Lokomotiven dieser f\u00fcr ihren seltenen Vierzylinder-Verbundantrieb bekannten Bauart in den Bestand der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH (HSB).
