Zw\u00f6lf Jahre sp\u00e4ter wurden St\u00fctzengr\u00fcn und Sch\u00f6nheide an den Schienenstrang angeschlossen. 1897 war nach 42 Kilometern die Endhaltestelle in Carlsfeld erreicht. Die Gesamtroute galt als l\u00e4ngste und steilste ihrer Art im Freistaat. Fast 50 Betriebe in den 13 Orten an der Trasse lie\u00dfen sich Anschlussgleise legen.
