Nach nur einem knappen Jahr Bauzeit wird die vom Land Sachsen-Anhalt mit 6,5 Mio. gef\u00f6rderte Verl\u00e4ngerung der Selketalbahn damit feierlich er\u00f6ffnet. Das dann mehr als 140 km umfassende Streckennetz der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen soll mit der neuen Anbindung der Unesco-Welterbestadt Quedlinburg der gesamten Nordharzregion vor allem in touristischer Hinsicht neue Impulse geben.<br \/>Die Einmaligkeit und besondere Bedeutung dieser Ereignisse soll auch f\u00fcr alle G\u00e4ste eine besondere W\u00fcrdigung erfahren. Am 4. M\u00e4rz beginnen bereits um 13.00 Uhr an den Bahnh\u00f6fen in Gernrode und Quedlinburg Bahnhofsfeste mit bunten Programmen f\u00fcr die ganze Familie. Bis in den sp\u00e4ten Abend hinein sorgen Pendelbusse f\u00fcr einen Transfer zwischen beiden Veranstaltungsorten.<br \/>Am Abend starten zwei dampfbespannte Sonderz\u00fcge von Gernrode nach Quedlinburg. Unterwegs gibt es zwei interessante Fotohalte mit Scheinanfahrten. Die Stellen sind f\u00fcr Foto- und Filmaufnahmen gut ausgeleuchtet. Der erste Halt wird in Bad Suderode eingelegt \u2013 hier begr\u00fc\u00dft der B\u00fcrgermeister die G\u00e4ste des ersten Zuges der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen in seinem Ort.<br \/>In Quedlinburg wird der 1. Dampfzug der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen durch eine Feuerstrecke hindurch in den Bahnhof geleitet. Eine Licht- und Lasershow stimmt die G\u00e4ste vor Ort auf dieses Ereignis ein.
