Eigens f\u00fcr diese Fahrten wurde damals der einzige noch vorhandene Personenwagen der Bahn, der VB 50, der seither als &#8222;Vulkan-Express&#8220; bekannt ist, wieder hergerichtet. Das Fahrzeug, mittlerweile arg strapaziert von \u00fcber 70 Jahren aktivem Dienst, wurde in den letzten Jahren grund\u00fcberholt und im letzten Jahr in alter Frische wieder in Dienst gestellt. Seither wird mit dem VB 50 nur zu besonderen Anl\u00e4ssen gefahren.<br \/>Als eine Art &#8222;Schnupperfahrten&#8220; greift die Brohltalbahn die Tradtion der Freitagsfahrten mit dem nunmehr &#8222;klassischen&#8220; Vulkan-Express in diesem Jahr erstmals auf. Exakt wie damals startet Freitags-Nachmittags, in den Monaten August und September, um 14.10 Uhr der VB 50 als der &#8222;Vulkan-Express&#8220; seine Fahrt hinauf in die Eifel. Zugfahrzeug wird eine der Dieselloks D1 bis D3 sein. Gegebenfalls wird die Garnitur durch den offenen Sommerwagen, der damals als zweites Personenfahrzeug dem Zug begestellt wurde, erg\u00e4nzt. Somit kann man an den wenigen Freitagen, in der rein gr\u00fcn-beige farbenen Garnitur, ganz klassisch durch das Brohltal fahren.<br \/>F\u00fcr Fotofreunde d\u00fcrfte der Freitag ohnehin ein Geheimtip sein. Dem planm\u00e4\u00dfigen 09.30 Uhr-Personenzug wird oftmals ein bis zwei Containertragwagen beigestellt. Damit bieten sich dem Brohltalbahnfreund ein Schmalspur-PmG und der klassische Vulkan-Express an einem Tag. Besonders w\u00fcrden sich die Mitglieder der Interessengemeinschaft Brohltal-Schmalspureisenbahn e. V. nat\u00fcrlich \u00fcber den Erwerb einer Fahrkarte freuen, womit Fotofreunde, vielleicht zumindet auf eine Teilstrecke, in den Genuss der gem\u00fctlichen dritten Klasse des VB 50 kommen (Stefan Raab, Interessengemeinschaft Brohltal-Schmalspureisenbahn e.
