Auf immer mehr Gleisstrecken zwischen Ostsee und Karpaten fahren wieder nostalgische Schmalspurz\u00fcge. Vor einigen Jahren k\u00fcndigten die Polnischen Staatsbahnen (PKP) die Liquidation der Bahnen an. Doch viele St\u00e4dte und Kreise sowie private Investoren haben den Wert der Schmalspurbahnen f\u00fcr die l\u00e4ndliche Infrastruktur und den Tourismus erkannt und \u00fcbernahmen die Strecken.<br \/>So geschah es in Starachowice bei Radom: Die \u201eStiftung polnischer Schmalspurbahnen\u201c (FPKW) \u00fcbernahm den Abschnitt. \u201eVor zehn Jahren hat die PKP die Strecke aufgegeben\u201c, erz\u00e4hlt Pawel Szwed, FPKW- Vorsitzender.
