Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung betonte Staatsminister Morlok: \u201eUnser Ziel ist der Fortbestand des vorhandenen s\u00e4chsischen<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Schmalspurnetzes\">Schmalspurnetzes<\/a><\/span> von ca. 100 Kilometer L\u00e4nge und insbesondere der Weiterbetrieb der<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Dampflokomotiven.\">Dampflokomotiven.<\/a><\/span> Das Verkehrsministerium setzt sich daher auch weiter daf\u00fcr ein, dass die s\u00e4chsischen Schmalspurbahnen auch unter Dampf bleiben.\u201c Zur nachhaltigen und langfristigen Sicherung der S\u00e4chsischen Schmalspurbahnen sowie der Parkeisenbahnen einschlie\u00dflich der Waldeisenbahn Muskau und weiteren musealen Schmalspurbahneinrichtungen hat das SMWA aktuell eine Richtlinie auf den Weg gebracht, die die Verwendung der zur Verf\u00fcgung stehenden Mittel regelt.  Im aktuellen Haushalt sind f\u00fcr Investitionen in die Schmalspurbahnen f\u00fcr 2013 und 2014 insgesamt sechs Millionen Euro eingestellt. Auch in der \u00d6PNV-Finanzierungsverordnung von 2015 bis 2020 sind zweckgebunden j\u00e4hrlich 8,74 Millionen Euro f\u00fcr die f\u00fcnf s\u00e4chsischen Schmalspurbahnen vorgesehen. Damit ist der Betrieb von D\u00f6llnitzbahn, Fichtelbergbahn, L\u00f6\u00dfnitzgrundbahn, Wei\u00dferitztalbahn (einschlie\u00dflich dem Abschnitt von Dippoldiswalde bis Kipsdorf) und Zittauer Schmalspurbahn langfristig gesichert und den Bahnen ist Planungssicherheit gegeben. Bundesweit verf\u00fcgt der Freistaat \u00fcber das dichteste Netz an Schmalspurbahnen.  Der Verein zur F\u00f6rderung S\u00e4chsischer Schmalspurbahnen e.V. verleiht seit 2003 den Claus-K\u00f6pcke-Preis an Vereine und Organisationen, die sich um den Erhalt und Weiterentwicklung der s\u00e4chsischen Schmalspurbahnen und deren Geschichte verdient gemacht haben.
