Die erste<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Schmalspurbahn\">Schmalspurbahn<\/a><\/span> in Deutschland bef&ouml;rderte Bodensch&auml;tze und Passagiere.<br \/>\n\tDas &bdquo;Bahnh&ouml;fchen&ldquo; ist vielen Beuelern heute als beliebtes Ausflugslokal bekannt. Der Name erinnert an den seit 1967 nicht mehr existenten Bahnsteig der ehemaligen<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Br&ouml;ltalbahn,\">Br&ouml;ltalbahn,<\/a><\/span> an dem heute vor 50 Jahren der letzte G&uuml;terzug hielt und danach seinen Betrieb einstellte. Die Bahn gilt als erste Schmalspurbahn des &ouml;ffentlichen Verkehrs in Deutschland und bef&ouml;rderte auch eine lebhafte Geschichte.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNicht nur im Bahnh&ouml;fchen erinnern alte Fotos an diese Zeit, als die Br&ouml;ltalbahn die Steinbr&uuml;che rund um Ruppichteroth im Rhein-Sieg-Kreis und &uuml;ber den Beueler Hafen via Rhein mit der ganzen Welt verband. Auch entlang des zu seiner Hochzeit insgesamt 83,5 Kilometer langen Streckennetzes finden sich noch heute Denkm&auml;ler und Relikte, etwa in Hennef, Br&ouml;l, Sch&ouml;nenberg und Waldbr&ouml;l. In Asbach k&ouml;nnen Eisenbahnfreunde das Museum der Rhein-Sieg-Eisenbahn-AG besuchen. So hie&szlig; das Unternehmen der Br&ouml;ltalbahn zuletzt offiziell, bevor es 1983 in der Rhein-Sieg-Verkehrsgesellschaft aufging.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTriebfeder hinter dem Erfolg der Br&ouml;ltalbahn war zu Beginn Emil Lange, Leiter der Friedrich-Wilhelms-H&uuml;tte. Er wollte die um 1830 entdeckten Eisenerzvorkommen der Br&ouml;ltaler Steinbr&uuml;che m&ouml;glichst kosteneffizient zur Weiterverarbeitung in seinem Troisdorfer Werk abtransportieren lassen. Da die seinerzeit &uuml;blichen Pferde- und Ochsenkarren sich angesichts der zu erwartenden F&ouml;rdermengen jedoch schnell als zu teuer erwiesen, setzte er stattdessen auf eine Pferdebahn mit einer Spurbreite von schmalen 785 Millimetern.Am 28.
