Immer \u00f6fter m\u00fcssen die aus den 1950er Jahren stammenden Maschinen zur Reparatur ins Dampflokwerk im th\u00fcringischen Meiningen. Die eigene Werkstatt im Bahnbetriebswerk Westerntor in Wernigerode ist f\u00fcr Gro\u00dfreparaturen oder auch die alle acht Jahre stattfindenden Hauptuntersuchungen zu klein. Die Auftr\u00e4ge an das der Deutschen Bahn geh\u00f6rende Meininger Dampflokwerk sind immens teuer und belasten zunehmen die Bilanz der Harzer Bahn. Allein eine Hauptuntersuchung, vergleichbar dem T\u00fcv beim Auto, schl\u00e4gt mit rund 600\u2005000 Euro zu Buche. Das ist auf die Dauer zu teuer, meint man in der HSB-F\u00fchrung.
