Johannes Brahms wetterte \u00fcber die schlechten Verkehrsm\u00f6glichkeiten. Noch bis Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts ist Deutschlands gr\u00f6\u00dfte Insel verkehrstechnisch schlecht angeschlossen. Holperige Landstra\u00dfen erschweren den Touristen das Vorw\u00e4rtskommen &#8211; und den Einheimischen ohnehin. Da es weder einen regul\u00e4ren<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23F\u00e4hrbetrieb\">F\u00e4hrbetrieb<\/a><\/span> noch Br\u00fccken gibt, ist R\u00fcgen vom Rest der Welt weitgehend abgeschnitten.<\/p>\n<p>&#8222;Mit Gott per Dampf quer durch die Insel&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Das soll sich Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts \u00e4ndern: 1863 wird die Eisenbahnverbindung von Berlin nach Stralsund er\u00f6ffnet.
