m\u00fcssen die Kernst\u00fccke der wichtigsten Zugmaschinen instand gesetzt werden. Zudem erfordern einige Waggons Arbeiten der ehrenamtlichen Helfer des \u00d6chsle-Schmalspurbahnvereins.  Die Diesellok V22-01 ben\u00f6tigt gar eine &#8222;Herztransplantation&#8220;: Der 6-Zylinder MAN Dieselmotor wird komplett ausgetauscht. &#8222;Beim alten Motor hatten wir aufgrund von Verschlei\u00df zunehmend Schwierigkeiten mit dem \u00d6ldruck&#8220;, erl\u00e4utert Benny Bechter, Vorsitzender des \u00d6chsle-Schmalspurbahnvereins. Ausgef\u00fchrt werden die Arbeiten im Rahmen einer Hauptuntersuchung, bei der eine Lok sp\u00e4testens alle acht Jahre auf Herz und Nieren gepr\u00fcft werden muss. Als Ersatz f\u00fcr die verschlissene Antriebsmaschine haben die \u00d6chsle-Verantwortlichen einen baugleichen Motor eines Notstromaggregats gefunden. &#8222;Der ist wenig gelaufen und daher in bestem Zustand&#8220;, freut sich Bechter. Bei dieser Gelegenheit erh\u00e4lt die Lok auch einen neuen Anstrich und wird zur kommenden Saison ab 1. Mai in neuem Gewand gl\u00e4nzen. Obwohl keine Dampflok, ist die von der Jagsttalbahn langfristig gemietete V22-01 mit Baujahr 1965 ein echter Oldtimer und leistet dem \u00d6chsle unsch\u00e4tzbare Dienste, etwa im Rangierdienst und f\u00fcr Bau z\u00fcge bei Streckenarbeiten. Auch preisg\u00fcnstige Sonderzugfahrten lassen sich mit ihr anbieten. Gebaut wurde die Schmalspurlok von der Firma Gmeinder im badischen Mosbach. Was der Dieselmotor f\u00fcr die V-22 ist, stellt der Dampfkessel aus dem Jahr 1957 f\u00fcr die \u00d6chsle-Lok 99 788 &#8222;Berta&#8220; dar. Auch hier sind Reparaturen n\u00f6tig, allerdings nicht so gravierende wie bei der Diesellok. &#8222;Das sind kleinere Verschlei\u00dferscheinungen, die unvermeidlich sind&#8220;, erkl\u00e4rt Bechter. Immerhin m\u00fcssen die gro\u00dfen Wasserk\u00e4sten an den Seiten der Lok abmontiert werden, um die notorischen Problemstellen an den Ecken der Feuerb\u00fcchse schwei\u00dfen zu k\u00f6nnen. So steht &#8222;Berta&#8220; derzeit ziemlich &#8222;nackt&#8220; im Lokschuppen. In der Rauchkammer, ganz an der Lokfront, hat der Betrieb ebenfalls Korrosionssch\u00e4den hinterlassen. Ersatzteile werden hierf\u00fcr wenn m\u00f6glich aus Edelstahl nachgefertigt, um der feuchten Hitze k\u00fcnftig besser standhalten zu k\u00f6nnen. Auch Waggons m\u00fcssen regelm\u00e4\u00dfig zur Hauptuntersuchung. Neben den Lokomotiven wird daher im Warthauser Lokschuppen am Personenwagen &#8222;Stg 5013&#8220; aus dem Jahr 1927 gearbeitet. Das komplette Fahrwerk und die Bremsanlage sind demontiert und werden eingehend \u00fcberpr\u00fcft und \u00fcberholt. Auch einige Sch\u00e4den an den Seitenw\u00e4nden und am Dach m\u00fcssen behoben werden, die den st\u00e4ndigen Wettereinfl\u00fcssen im Freien zuzuschreiben sind. Noch wesentlich umfangreicher sind diese Sch\u00e4den am Wagenkasten des \u00d6chsle-Fahrradwagens Stg 16819, der zur Zeit im Lokschuppen Ochsenhausen hergerichtet wird. &#8222;Rund ein Drittel aller Bretter des Holzaufbaus mussten ausgetauscht werden&#8220;, berichtet Bechter. Neben den Lokomotiven soll dieser Wagen aus dem Jahr 1943 auf jeden Fall bis zum Saisonbeginn wieder zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen, damit die \u00d6chsle-Fahrg\u00e4ste in den Genuss des kostenlosen Fahrradtransports kommen.
