Denn das alte Deichtor, das sonst die Gemeinde vor Sturmfluten sch\u00fctzt, ist in die Jahre gekommen und marode.<br \/>\nZwar sichern die dicken Pakete mit Kiessand nun das Dorf, die traditionsreiche Pferdebahn aber, deren Trasse vom Inselort durch das Schart bis zum Insel-Westend verl\u00e4uft, ist abgeschnitten. Im ganzen vergangenen Jahr ruhte der Betrieb &#8211; der Pferdebahn drohte das Aus.<br \/>\nViele waren traurig<br \/>\n\u00abViele G\u00e4ste waren unglaublich traurig, dass die Bahn nie wieder fahren k\u00f6nnte\u00bb, berichtet Hille Schreiber vom Inselmuseum, das die historische Bahn von 1885 betreibt. Spiekeroog ohne Pferdebahn? Auch f\u00fcr viele Insulaner ein kaum vorstellbarer Gedanke. Lange wurde nach m\u00f6glichen L\u00f6sungen gesucht: Das stete Auf- und Abbauen der Sands\u00e4cke f\u00fcr die Saison w\u00e4re ein zu gro\u00dfer Aufwand f\u00fcr den Museumsverein.
