Damals sollte die<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Kleinbahnanlage\">Kleinbahnanlage<\/a><\/span> im Herbst 1967 wieder abgebaut werden. Aber bis dahin hatte die Bahn die Herzen der Besucher erobert und durfte \u2013 nach vielen schwierigen Verhandlungen \u2013 doch bleiben.<\/p>\n<p>In den 1950-er Jahren hatte der Berliner Kaufmann Henry Escher die Idee, f\u00fcr die Bundesgartenschau 1959 in Dortmund eine moderne Kleinbahn bauen zu lassen. Er baute vier Z\u00fcge, bestehend aus jeweils einer Lokomotive im Porsche-Design und drei Waggons. In einem solchen Zug konnten bis zu 90 Personen fahren.<\/p>\n<p>Zwei Kilometer im Uhrzeigersinn<br \/>\nDie Karlsruher interessierten sich auch sehr f\u00fcr eine solche Bahn f\u00fcr einen Rundkurs im Schlossgarten. Diese<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Kleinbahn\">Kleinbahn<\/a><\/span> sollte an bestimmten Stellen an interessanten Punkten vorbeifahren, die von Hostessen erkl\u00e4rt wurden, die im hinteren Teil des Wagens mit einem Lautsprecher sa\u00dfen. Insgesamt war die Strecke, immer im Uhrzeigersinn, zweieinhalb Kilometer lang.<\/p>\n<p>Am 29. M\u00e4rz 1967 war alles fertig und die Bundesgartenschau \u00f6ffnete am 14. April in Karlsruhe. Im Schlossgarten fuhren vier Z\u00fcge, bestehend aus je einer<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Lokomotive\">Lokomotive<\/a><\/span> und drei Wagen. Die Fahrzeit war zwanzig Minuten und die<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Zugfolge\">Zugfolge<\/a><\/span> etwa zehn Minuten \u2013 so waren immer drei Z\u00fcge im Einsatz.
