Viel sch\u00f6ner und entspannter ist jedoch die Alternative auf der Schiene: von<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Garmisch-Partenkirchen\">Garmisch-Partenkirchen<\/a><\/span> aus dauert es eineinviertel Stunden bis zur in den Fels gehauenen unterirdischen Bergstation<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Zugspitzplatt,\">Zugspitzplatt,<\/a><\/span> von dort geht es mit der<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Gletscherbahn\">Gletscherbahn<\/a><\/span> am Seil in vier Minuten weiter nach ganz oben.<\/p>\n<p>Die Endstation auf der Schiene wurde in den 80er-Jahren vom<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Schneefernerhaus\">Schneefernerhaus<\/a><\/span> zum Zugspitzplatt verlegt, nach dem Bau eines weiteren Tunnelkilometers weiter bergauf \u2013 es ist der \u201e#Rosi-Tunnel\u201c, benannt nach der Ski-Ikone Rosi<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Mittermaier.\">Mittermaier.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Seit 1930 fahren die Z\u00fcge auf<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23schmaler\">schmaler<\/a><\/span> Spur von 1004 Millimetern \u2013 gegen\u00fcber 1435 Millimetern Normalspur \u2013 auf und ab, vom ersten Tag an im elektrischen Betrieb.
