Mit der Unterzeichnung des Vertrages gew\u00e4hrleisten wir auch in Zukunft eine sichere und langfristige Bahnstromversorgung aus Wasserkraft f\u00fcr die traditionsreiche Schmalspurbahn\u201c, unterstreicht Mobilit\u00e4tslandesrat Ludwig Schleritzko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LH-Stellvertreter Stephan Pernkopf: \u201eWir gehen den blau-gelben Weg zur Energieunabh\u00e4ngigkeit, und mit der Mariaziellerbahn befahren wir diesen Weg sogar auf Schienen. Wir setzen auf erneuerbaren Strom aus unserer Heimat, auf Wind- und Sonnenkraft, auf Biomasse und nat\u00fcrlich auch auf die Wasserkraft. Bereits seit 100 Jahren ist das Kleinwasserkraftwerk Erlaufboden in Betrieb und versorgt nicht nur die Mariazellerbahn mit \u00d6kostrom. Durch die Modernisierungen kann zuk\u00fcnftig mehr sauberer Strom produziert werden. Damit verbinden sich der \u00f6ffentliche Verkehr und die daf\u00fcr notwendige saubere Energieversorgung zu einem Musterprojekt des Klimaschutzes.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die sogenannten Umformer liefern die n\u00f6tige Fahrspannung f\u00fcr den elektrischen Betrieb der Mariazellerbahn, denn diese zeichnet eine Besonderheit aus: die Frequenz mit der sie f\u00e4hrt. W\u00e4hrend die Frequenz aus der Steckdose 50Hz (Hertz) betr\u00e4gt, ben\u00f6tigt die Mariazellerbahn 25Hz. Der Strom f\u00fcr die Mariazellerbahn wird von der EVN \u00fcber das Umformerwerk Klangen sowie \u00fcber das Kraftwerk Erlaufboden bezogen. Dort befinden sich zwei Umformer, wobei einer davon derzeit nicht betriebsf\u00e4hig ist. Dieser wird 2024 durch die EVN Naturkraft erneuert und erm\u00f6glicht so die direkte Produktion von Strom aus Wasserkraft als auch die Umformung aus dem 50 Hz-Netz. Die Inbetriebnahme soll im Dezember 2024 erfolgen.
