Ab 1925 wurden st\u00e4rkere Loks eingesetzt, doch bis 1968 mussten sie<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Diesellokomotiven\">Diesellokomotiven<\/a><\/span> weichen. Von 1978 an stand die letzte<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Dampflok\">Dampflok<\/a><\/span> &#8222;#Dollart&#8220; als Denkmal am Kurhaus. Knapp 20 Jahre sp\u00e4ter entschieden sich die Bahnbetreiber, die Lok des Baujahrs 1940 restaurieren zu lassen. Seit 1997 f\u00e4hrt sie wieder, jetzt unter dem Namen &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de\/?tag=borkum\">#Borkum<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alltagsverkehr mit modernen Dieselloks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Von der einst bis zu 45 Kilometern langen<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Gleisstrecke\">Gleisstrecke<\/a><\/span> sind nur die 7,5 Kilometer vom F\u00e4hranleger zum Bahnhof im Zentrum geblieben. Wer mit dem Schiff nach Borkum kommt, sieht die Z\u00fcge der \u00e4ltesten deutschen Inselbahn bereits unmittelbar am Anleger stehen. Die historisch wirkenden Waggons sind jedoch meist<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Nachbauten\">Nachbauten<\/a><\/span> aus 1993, die von Dieselloks gezogen werden.
