Die B\u00fcrgerinnen und B\u00fcrger sowie Vereine der acht Gemeinden aus den drei Landkreisen Zwickau, Vogtlandkreis und Erzgebirgskreis, die \u00fcber die ehemalige<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Schmalspurbahn\">Schmalspurbahn<\/a><\/span> verbunden waren, feiern mit dem Fest gemeinsam die s\u00e4chsische<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Eisenbahnhistorie\">Eisenbahnhistorie<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bbIch freue mich sehr darauf, am kommenden Wochenende ein St\u00fcck s\u00e4chsischer<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Industriekultur\">Industriekultur<\/a><\/span> mitzufeiern. Zwischen Wilkau-Ha\u00dflau und Carlsfeld fuhr die erste s\u00e4chsische Schmalspurbahn, die sich gleichzeitig auch als die l\u00e4ngste und steilste auszeichnete. Was fr\u00fcher eine Lebensader der Textil- und Holzindustrie war, ist heute ein Zeugnis s\u00e4chsischer Industriekultur und bereichert unser touristisches Angebot \u2013 sei es durch die<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Museumsbahn,\">Museumsbahn,<\/a><\/span> eisenbahngeschichtliche<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Ausstellungen\">Ausstellungen<\/a><\/span> oder in Form eines<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Radwanderweges\">Radwanderweges<\/a><\/span> auf der stillgelegten Trasse. Ich danke allen ehrenamtlich Engagierten, die es m\u00f6glich machen, dass wir der<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Eisenbahntradition\">Eisenbahntradition<\/a><\/span> nachsp\u00fcren k\u00f6nnen. Mein Dank gilt auch den Vertretern der beteiligten drei Landkreise und acht Kommunen, die dieses Schmalspurbahn-Festwochenende initiiert haben. Der Stadt Wilkau-Ha\u00dflau gratuliere ich zur abgeschlossenen Sanierung ihres alten Bahnhofs \u2013 die Wiederbelebung dieses Denkmals und Nutzung als Museum, Jungendfreizeitzentrum und als B\u00fcrger- und Vereinshaus mit Veranstaltungsfl\u00e4che verdient gro\u00dfen Respekt\u00ab, sagt Staatsministerin Barbara Klepsch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die s\u00e4chsischen Schmalspurbahnen waren mit 500 km Streckenl\u00e4nge einst das gr\u00f6\u00dfte<span class=\"hashtag\"> #<a href=\"https:\/\/archiv.schmalspurbahn.de?s=%23Schmalspurbahnsystem\">Schmalspurbahnsystem<\/a><\/span> in Deutschland. Sie gelten als wesentlicher Motor der industriellen Entwicklung Sachsens. Zwischen Wilkau-Ha\u00dflau und Carlsfeld fuhr die erste s\u00e4chsische Schmalspurbahn (Er\u00f6ffnung 1881), die gleichzeitig auch die l\u00e4ngste (42 km) und steilste war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vor 50 Jahren (1973) wurde der Bahnbetrieb eingestellt. Heute wird die Trasse teils f\u00fcr Museumsbahn-Verkehr, teils als Radwanderweg nachgenutzt. Mehrere Bahnh\u00f6fe entlang der ehemaligen Bahnlinie beheimaten eisenbahngeschichtliche Ausstellungen. Der alte Bahnhof Wilkau-Ha\u00dflau wurde \u00fcber zehn Jahre saniert, gef\u00f6rdert \u00fcber das Programm Stadtumbau Ost und Denkmalmittel. Heute wird er als Kinder- und Jugend-Freizeitzentrum, B\u00fcrger- und Vereinshaus, Veranstaltungs- und Ausstellungsfl\u00e4che genutzt.
