Rund 20 M\u00e4nner hatten durch die Kleinbahn einst im Reichswald ihre Arbeit. Eine Platte \u00fcber dem Schornstein der auf Benzol laufenden Loks sollte der Waldbrandgefahr durch Funkenflug vorbeugen. Unterwegs fuhr die Kleinbahn \u00fcber sechs, Talmulden \u00fcberquerende Holzbr\u00fccken, deren Sicherheit stets kontrolliert werden musste. Zu ihrer Entlastung sprang das Begleitpersonal vor den Br\u00fccken ab und am Ende wieder auf. Somit d\u00fcrfte die Bahn kein Eilzug gewesen sein. Der Schienenstrang bedurfte ebenfalls einer st\u00e4ndigen \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung, Pferdefuhrwerke und andere gr\u00f6\u00dfere Fahrzeuge konnten beim \u00dcberqueren die Gleise besch\u00e4digen. 1920 gab es sogar einen Anschlag: Ein Unbekannter hatte eine Weiche so bearbeitet, dass die Lokomotive in voller Fahrt in den Waldboden stie\u00df. Dadurch rutschte ein Baumstamm in die Lok und verletzte den Heizer t\u00f6dlich.
