Gemeinsam mit dem Parlamentarischen Staatssekret\u00e4r im Bundesministerium der Finanzen, Hartmut Koschyk, und Verkehrsminister Thomas Webel aus Sachsen-Anhalt stellte sie die neue Briefmarke heute in der Herberge auf dem Brocken vor. &#8222;Zur Unterst\u00fctzung der Harzer Schmalspurbahn (HSB) haben Th\u00fcringen und Sachsen-Anhalt 1994 einen L\u00e4ndervertrag mit der HSB geschlossen. Das Bahnunternehmen organisiert jedoch nicht nur touristische Dampfzugfahrten. Der Freistaat Th\u00fcringen hat auf der Strecke zwischen Nordhausen und Ilfeld auch regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Schienenpersonennahverkehr bestellt&#8220;, so Klaan weiter. &#8222;2003 wurde das Schmalspurnetz mit dem Stra\u00dfenbahnnetz der Stadt Nordhausen verbunden. Der Personennahverkehr in der Region wurde so noch attraktiver. Durch einen ann\u00e4hernden Stundentakt konnte auch der Sch\u00fclerverkehr auf die Schiene verlagert werden. Das Land kann so den Bahnbetrieb mit insgesamt rund zwei Millionen Euro j\u00e4hrlich unterst\u00fctzen.&#8220; Gesellschafter der HSB sind die Landkreise Harz und Nordhausen und einige an der Strecke liegenden Kommunen. Das Bahnunternehmen hat nach eigenen Angaben 265 Besch\u00e4ftigte und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber einen umfangreichen Fuhrpark (25 Dampfloks, 10 Dieselloks, 10 Triebwagen, 80 Reisezugwagen und 30 Rollb\u00f6cke f\u00fcr den G\u00fcterverkehr). Das Streckennetz umfasst rund 140 Kilometer und besteht aus der Harzquerbahn (Nordhausen \u2013 Wernigerode), der Selketalbahn (Quedlinburg \u2013 Hasselfelde mit Verbindung zur Harzquerbahn) und der Brockenbahn.
