Am heutigen Erstausgabetag wurde die lang ersehnte Sonderbriefmarke nun im Festsaal des Rathauses von Quedlinburg erstmals im Beisein von Oberb\u00fcrgermeister Dr. Eberhard Brecht, dem Landrat des Landkreises Harz, Dr. Michael Ermrich sowie Mitgliedern des Aufsichtsrates und der Gesellschafter der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH (HSB) einer breiten \u00d6ffentlichkeit gezeigt. In einer eigens im Rathaus eingerichteten Sonderpostfiliale der Deutschen Post AG waren die Briefmarke selbst, eine limitierte Maximum-Postkarte mit einem Erstverwendungsstempel mit Selketalbahnmotiv sowie das Ersttagsblatt der Marke erh\u00e4ltlich. Am 07. August 1887, also vor nun mehr gut 125 Jahren, wurde der erste Abschnitt der f\u00fcr ihre romantische Streckenf\u00fchrung bekannten Selketalbahn zwischen Gernrode und M\u00e4gdesprung feierlich in Betrieb genommen. Damit war der Grundstein f\u00fcr das heute mehr als 140 km lange Streckennetz der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen gelegt. Das Motiv des nun erh\u00e4ltlichen attraktiven Sonderpostwertzeichens der Deutschen Post, welches einen Wert von 0,45 Euro hat und sich damit ideal f\u00fcr den Versand von Postkarten im Inland eignet, zeigt einen der historischen Dampfz\u00fcge der HSB inmitten der f\u00fcr den Harz so charakteristischen Landschaft bergiger Fichtenw\u00e4lder. Die Gestaltung der Briefmarke wurde dabei im Rahmen einer Ausschreibung durch das Bundesministerium der Finanzen von Gerda M. und Horst F. Neumann aus Wuppertal entworfen, das zugrunde liegende Foto stammt von Michael Hubrich. Die neue Briefmarke &#8222;125 Jahre Schmalspurbahnen im Harz&#8220; ist ab heute bei der Deutschen Post AG sowie in allen Fahrkartenausgaben und Dampfl\u00e4den der HSB erh\u00e4ltlich.
