Erstmals nach ihrer Rekonstruktion wird das traditionsreiche Modell ein kurzes St\u00fcck auf der Schiene fahren. \u201eEin solches Meisterwerk s\u00e4chsischer Ingenieurskunst wieder aufs Gleis zu setzen, ist ein Gewinn f\u00fcr den ganzen Feistaat, touristisch wie auch ideell. Aus circa 4.400 Einzelteilen ist die Lokomotive in rund dreieinhalb Jahren dank vieler Helfer gebaut worden. Dass der Neubau der I K allein durch Spenden und b\u00fcrgerschaftliches Engagement bewerkstelligt werden konnte, ist ein echtes Bravourst\u00fcck\u201c, sagte Ministerpr\u00e4sident Tillich und dankte stellvertretend f\u00fcr alle Unterst\u00fctzer Bodo Finger und Dr. Andreas Winkler von der Vereinigung der s\u00e4chsischen Wirtschaft, die das Projekt ma\u00dfgeblich initiiert haben. Mehr als 80 Unternehmen aus Sachsen und anderen Bundesl\u00e4ndern sowie 250 Spender waren am Entstehen der historischen Lok beteiligt. \u201eIhnen allen gilt unser Dank und unsere Anerkennung, sie alle haben zum Erhalt eines St\u00fcckes s\u00e4chsischer Schmalspurbahngeschichte beigetragen\u201c, so Tillich.<br \/>Schmalspurlokomotiven des Typs I K fuhren bereits im Jahr 1881 auf den K\u00f6niglich-S\u00e4chsischen Schienen. Bis 1892 wurde die dreifach gekuppelte Tenderlokomotive hergestellt. Anl\u00e4sslich des 125-j\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4ums der S\u00e4chsischen Schmalspurbahnen beschloss der Verein zur F\u00f6rderung S\u00e4chsischer Schmalspurbahnen e.V. 2006 den Neubau der Dampflok. \u201eDie I K ist eine wahre Legende unter den S\u00e4chsischen Dampflokomotiven. Sie erinnert an ein wichtiges St\u00fcck Industrie- und Eisenbahngeschichte. Im 19. Jahrhundert hat sie die Industrialisierung in Sachsen vorangetrieben. F\u00fcr den Tourismus ist die Schmalspurbahn damals wie heute ein Aush\u00e4ngeschild. Umso mehr freut es mich als Schirmherr des Projekts \u201aDampfbahnroute S\u00e4chsische Schmalspurbahnen\u2019, die I K 127 Jahre nach ihrer ersten Lieferung heute feierlich zu \u00fcbergeben&#8220;, erkl\u00e4rte der Ministerpr\u00e4sident anl\u00e4sslich der Taufe der I K. Die Loklegende soll im Wechsel auf allen schmalspurigen Strecken und Bahnh\u00f6fen in Sachsen unterwegs und ausgestellt sein.
