Der Fahrer der Bahn, die sich gerade in einer Doppelfahrt befand, konnte die Gefahr durch eine Kurve und die schlechte Sichtachse nicht erkennen. Somit fuhr der Zug ungebremst gegen den Baumstamm und kam nach ca. 20 Metern zum Stehen als die Lokomotive entgleiste. Der Zug war zum Unfallzeitpunkt mit ca. 100 Passagieren voll besetzt. Doch zum Gl\u00fcck gab es keine Verletzten, denn durch eine Sicherheitskonstruktion an den Wagons bestand f\u00fcr die Mitreisenden zu keiner Zeit eine Gefahr.
